Scoil Chaitríona Cailíní National School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1960. It is located on Measc Avenue in Coolock and caters for pupils within the catchment areas of the greater Coolock area. The school is under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin. The school caters for girls from second class to sixth class. The school participates in Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools (DEIS), the Department’s action plan for educational inclusion.

Currently, over 200 girls attend the school. The school has an attendance policy and a home-school-community liaison (HSCL) co-ordinator. The school benefits from the sterling services of a secretary, an attendance monitor and a caretaker.
